The cover girl and actress now lives with Samantha and the dog she adopted (above) and Olivia. Ann Turkel's ex-husband Richard Harris has passed away after just eight years of marriage, and 20 years of divorce. Turkel, who was raised in Manhattan and has a Jewish middle class family, attended both the Neighborhood Playhouse and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy when she was 16. They were Sandy Meisner & Philip Burton. In high school Ann started singing with her schoolmates and formed the rock and roll group. She also performed a season of summer stock theater at the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts in such plays as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. It was while performing in her band for an evening of fashion shows that Ann was found through Gloria Schiff an editor at Vogue Magazine. In just a couple of weeks, editor-in chief Diana Vreeland commissioned Ann to shoot the very first Vogue Cover featuring photographer Richard Avedon. Ann was soon one of the most sought-after models across the nation, gracing the covers of some of the most popular magazines for fashion. They included Vogue Bazaar as well Cosmopolitan. Ann began modeling in Europe as well as Japan in the fashion houses of Max Factor Revlon as well as Chanel after two consecutive years of successful modeling.
