Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe, as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as was a pianist. Her music career started in Atlanta at Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You a House 12, was released only in Japan. It has been remixed several times, and is the mainstay of her live shows. Her voice has also been a part of voice to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine came to national interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
